Clear something up for me?
I have never understood why people take pictures of their kids in the hospital, usually when they are on vents, or dialysis, or recovering form some horrendous accident.
Do you really need pictures to remember? As the kid in the bed, I forbade any photos. After my transplant, I didn’t want my picture taken. At all. I didn’t win that battle, so there are a few (And by a few, I mean...

Seven Quick Takes Friday--Vol. VII
As would work for today, Congrats to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge!
Even Google got into the act:
Last night I saw the national tour of Mary Poppins. Read about it here!
And more theater—tomorrow Ragtime chorus rehearsals being! I can’t wait!
It has finally. stopped. raining. “The sun is shining, the tank is clean and we are getting out of—” “The tank...

I would just like to note, that as an alto, it ROCKS to have a D3 as the last note! YES! Alto power!
roseanne-roseannadanna:
I’m Not That Girl, from Kristin Chenoweth’s last show.
[There is something incredibly touching, but also heart breaking about the way Idina performs this.]

Theater Review--Mary Poppins (national tour)
(Anything Can Happen If You Let It, Act II)
The “practically perfect” nanny has flown into town as part of the 5/3rd Bank Broadway Series, and for the most part, she lives up to expectations. A mixture of material from the 1964 film, Travers’ original novels, and new songs, Mary Poppins will certainly delight children, families, and lovers of well-crafted musicals.

Hmmmm....musicals coming to town next season
So I just checked out the 2011-2012 Broadway Across America page for Columbus. Blue Man Group? Really? This counts?
Mary Poppins (which I’m seeing on Thursday!) technically kicks off the new season. Next is Jersey Boys, then Billy Elliot.
This is my “interested in seeing” list:
Billy Elliot
Shrek
West Side Story. Yeah, of course I’ve seen the movie, and I learned the...

The Simple Woman's Daybook--April 25, 2011
Outside my window…rain clouds coming up from the south. It’s so humid. Thank God my A/C was fixed today so I’ll be able to sleep tonight! It feels like August outside and it’s only late April!
I am listening to…Mary Poppins Original London Cast in my CD player. :) Going to see the show here in Columbus on Thursday!
I am wearing…a short-sleeved, sky blue cotton...

CF fundraiser--want to join me? →
So this sounds pretty awesome. This is a local CF fundraiser that involves hockey (one of my favorite things). Among the highlights: A round-robin tournament between 8 mens’ teams; a silent auction (with Penguin stuff!); a Columbus Blue Jackets autograph sessions; a skills competition, and a free skate for the community. This is a great way to have some fun and also raise money for the local...

I thought this was high-sterical. I am type AB blood, so this guy would be perfect for me!
Lesson of the story: Be an organ donor. No matter what your blood type. :)

The Simple Woman's Daybook--April 18, 2011
(The Random Prompt edition)
Outside my window…lovely, warm, breezy day. 70s. Love spring.
I am wearing: A Garnet hill skirt (grey), Boden camisole (robin’s egg blue). I had a J. Crew cardigan (also blue) on over it earlier, and a Boden “Delft blue” scarf. Yeah, lots of blue today. :)
I am grateful for…the people I work with. They took me out for a belated birthday...

Going to have to check this out later so I can get the lyrics changes (if any), but I wanted to post this. It’s such a great song, as it is.

Emily's Hockey Wisdom No.1
NEVER. PULL. THE. GOALIE. (and hope it’s going to magically save the game for you)
I cannot think, of a single time in my 20+ years of hockey watching, when it has had the desired result.
It’s not like going for fourth down. Sometimes that works. This? Never. Ever. Ever.
And yet…people still do it.

Still here...
Yes, I’m still here, just sort of not feeling the Internets right now. No idea why. More like reading/writing/music/TV watching, and not mindless net surfing.
But I know people get freaked when I don’t post. So I’m posting to let you know I’m alive. :) Hopefully I’ll have more scintillating content later. :)

Weekend Rewind VI
Friday: freed from OSUMC….again. Gotta tell you, this is not a pattern I am anxious to repeat! But home and slept for a long, long time. :)
Saturday: My 29th birthday! Woke up before 10, which amazed me, and did clips. Then I hung out—watched the rest of The 10 Commandments and finished Helen of Troy before a quick afternoon nap and then church and Lindey’s for dinner! It was a...
