Outside my window…sunny! It’s going to be almost 60 degrees tomorrow. This is January? I’ll take it.

Outside my window…dark and windy. The weather has been insane this year. It was maybe 10 degrees on Friday and now it’s in the 50s? Huh? So confusing.
I am wearing…a camisole and sweatpants—just out of the tub and going to do some bookshelving/yoga/ballet beautiful after this. I need to get a chair for reading in the book room, post haste.

Ice princess
Well, sort of.
It looks like my car is iced in—oh, joy of Ohio winters!—but I’m going to investigate a bit later. Like, say, after noon. I’m supposed to go to a concert tonight, and I was excited about that, so my car better cooperate.
But in the meantime—there will be brownies baked today! Recipe will be posted after I make them. I’m making them sans icing....

Emily cooks: Simply Salad
I just got home about, oh, 20 minutes ago.
Hair cut. Work until 5 because it was a session day. Groceries.
I’m hungry.
So here was dinner—a revamped version of Rachael Ray’s Jackson Salad
Butter lettuce
1/4 small onion, thinly sliced
2 tbsp. capers (brine drained off)
Place in large bowl. Toss lightly to blend.
1/3 c. EVOO
1/4 c. balsamic vinegar

Outside my window…a bit dark, and grey…typical winter in Ohio! But I have the day off, so that’s good. Snow is melting in patches here and there.
